Many people got upgrade offers a few months back for LTF Rubyx, Sapphiro & Emerald CC. You can check the iMobile app.
Upgrading credit limits will make you eligible for higher varient cards if offered to you, so yes, you should consider increasing the limit.
The negative point is that it will make your profile over leveraged, and it will be a problem for applying new credit cards from some banks like SBI.

That "eligible for higher variants of cards" may or may not hold true. I am sitting on 17.5L limit on Sapphiro without any upgrade to Emeralde offer.
Its good but at the same time do look for over leverage to avoid credit card rejection in future.
