I need to buy a phone this Diwali. I currently have a Moto G40 Fusion, and it's the worst phone I've ever owned. I know three people with the same model, and all of them have experienced ghost touch issues and faulty main speakers. I was shocked to find many users reporting similar issues globally, yet Motorola hasn't acknowledged it. It feels like they really robbed us and got away with it.
I'm now looking for a reliable smartphone between 12k-20k, and the brand doesn't matter as long as it meets these criteria.
1. Reliable in terms of hardware and software (a clean OS is preferred).
2. No gaming, but it should handle multitasking smoothly.
3. A decent camera for document scanning.
4. Good battery backup.
I plan to exchange my Moto G40 Fusion while purchasing the new phone. This will be my first time doing so, so I'd appreciate any advice on whether I should go with Flipkart or Amazon, and what things I should watch out for during the exchange process.
I have SBI and ICICI credit cards.
Thanks in advance!

I would like to know the exchange process. Any particular thing I need to keep in mind? This ghost touch issue with my phone which I want to exchange happens once in a while but the main speaker has distortion sound though not noticeable without close inspection.
Samsung a16 new phone with dimensity 6300, could be one choice. Other could any samsung M or A series with Snapdragon processors.
A16 comes with 90hz, and 6yrs os updates. Thinking of my m51 exchange with it. Keep an eye on blogs and reviews
Yes. M34, my sister uses it and it's quite good, any other A series phone under 22k u recommend?
iQOO Z7 Pro (256gb) personally using it..no issues faced so far. Though it has curved screen which can be a bit fragile depending on your usage/care
Thanks for the suggestion. But a curved display is a big NO for me. Pain to get a screen guard and its fragile.
Go with iqoo phones. They are the best value phones with good performance, battery for the price you pay.
Got a suggestion from a friend and now a couple of people here aswell. Is Iqoo that good? Please suggest a particular model which comes under 20k. Tried and tested one.
Nothing phone 1 or Nothing 2a
Yes both are within my budget. So if I have to narrow down to one. Which one u prefer would be the best VFM?
U can check for nothing, oneplus or vivo (u can disable blaotwares) .
I am talking of devices without jailbreaking (custom OS).
Suggest to check few Youtube videos of Poco F6 ... if you can go up to22,000.
You can refer my old comment once on call recording related in this thread.

Go for Poco X6 or Poco X6 Pro...atleast for long term usage.
I'm using Poco X5 pro bought in Feb 2023 it is excellent... and Poco F6 recently, need more time to write it's feedback.
Have Poco X5 5G (average phone,), Poco X2 bought in 2020, Poco M2 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in office, they working in excellent condition in office.... and also Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max 2 for tele calling kind of work.
All of them have call recording and IR Blaster for TV and AC control...and back up all call records in to a laptop and HDD regularly.
Saw many people reporting the motherboard going bad in Poco phones. Any another suggestion?
You can also look at LAVA Agni. Comes with clean android and the reviews seem to be good.
The Samsung M35 or M55s are ideal for your budget. No other manufacturer provides as stable and secure software experience as Samsung does in mid-budget phones. I have a friend who has been using their M30s for 4 years now without any issues and I recently had a friend buy the M55s and they were quite happy with it. At our home we are all Galaxy S users and have been for over a decade. All the talk about Exynos overheating and all is mostly just an echo-chamber of negativity without personal experience.
Thanks for the insights. I really appreciate it. Will keep this in mind.
Okay thanks.
My query though was about 'disable' versus delete/uninstall.
Bro, can you summarise it..?
