We wish to inform you that from 1 July 2024, Credit card transactions with the following Merchant Category Codes (MCC) will not be eligible for accrual of Reward points.
The excluded Merchant Category Codes are:
• Bail and Bond Payments: 9223
• Education and Government: 9399, 8299, 8220, 8211, 8241, 8244, 8249, 9222, 9402, 9211, 9405
• E-wallet: 6540
• Financial Institutions: 6010, 6011, 6012
• Fuel: 5541, 5983, 5172, 5542, 5552
• Insurance: 6300, 5960
• Jewelry: 5944, 5094
• Money Transfer: 4829
• Non-Financial Institutions: 6051
• Real Estate Agent and Managers: 6513
• Tax Payments: 9311
• Utilities: 4900
I have HSBC Visa Platinum card. Not sure if all cards are affected or just this one. Someone with HSBC cashback card can confirm in comments.

Most of these categories are already excluded for Cashback card as well. I didn't receive any mail recently though.
so now NPS payments won't fetch any reward points
I am a cashback card user I didn't get any
I hold a HSBC Cashback credit card since past 2 years. First, they devalued insurance payment, increased fee, increased the waiver criteria and now they are restricting utilities as well.
