The video though a bit exaggerated gets it mostly right except for an unnecessary mention of crypto. It hit the nail on the head with lobbying as the #1 issue in the US. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are all multi-billion dollar private companies that generate tax revenues for the US Gov. A system like UPI will put them nearly out of business. That's why lobbying is used to prevent anything like UPI coming up. Lobbying is a fancy term for exerting influence and legalized bribing.

There are conspiracies that a lot of renewable and nuclear energy research had also been thwarted by lobbying from the oil companies.

Similarly, there are also conspiracies that uprisings and wars are manufactured to benefit the arms companies.
