How to withdraw Amex application?

I mistakenly applied Amex card without referral. How to cancel/ withdraw this application?
Earlier CC said that complete the application and then they can cancel from backend. But today when I called CC, they say there is no way to cancel?
So what should I do?

I have not done video KYC. Only submitted online application form. Can I withdraw at this stage? If yes how?

Unfortunately, if you have already done vKYC, you can't go back.
If you're already approved, then wait for the card to arrive but do NOT activate it.
Leave it for 30 days, it will get auto-cancelled and then you can re-apply for the same card after 90 days.
Or you can apply for a different Amex card instantly, the waiting period is only for the same card variant.
