I found the right solution.
.
1. Login your account at amazon.com.
2. Go to login and security in my account.
3. There you can delete your number.
- Sort By
update the number with a new number old one gets deleted
But the old one will still remain in their database.
Yes it does, lots of data still remains with them.
Not possible when no access to ole phone number anymore very insecure.

Hi... I signed up for new account at Amazon AE but unfortunately, on verification time due to illegible document, my account could not be verified. Amazon refused to process the account verification any more.. Now I am trying to Sign Up a new account on the same number and Amazon is not accepting the Number, being used in the previous unverified account. can someone help please How can I delete Unverified Account now.
Not sure if I understand your issue correctly,
but if you have access to the account in which you previously added a phone number and now want to remove it,
then
you can log into that account.
Go to the 'Your Account' section [https://amazon.com/your-account / https://amazon.ae/your-account].
Within Account Settings, tap or click on the 'login and security' tab or option.
There, one gets the option to add or edit the phone number.
If one chooses 'edit', then the subsequent screen shows the option to delete the number too, if a number is already added.
Remember
▪︎ You might need access to the number, Amazon sends verification code on it, for accessing peior to making such changes.
▪︎ If the 'remove' option is not there on the Indian site, then log on to other Amazon sites (using the same credentials).
Amazon will NEVER delete any account from their records,
at most it will be deactivated on your request.
If you can verify the authentication questions on phone call, then the 'account change' or the account escalation team too can remove the phone number from that account.
You can reach out to the login and security team, by asking the primary associates to teansfer you to the login and security team/ account change team.
Or by arranging a callback via https://amazon.in/passwordreset / https://amazon.com/passwordreset.
if the associate sticks to their policies they will take any such action only after the customer answers at-least three questions correctly.
(Questions like total pay balance, last four digits of any saved card, any subscriptions, prime yes no/ kindle yes no, last order, payment mode on last order, date of account creation or tentative time since used item ordered and so on).
Careless, casual or considerate associates or friends working for that team can sometimes do all this by bypassing even the security questions.
(One can just say that the number is no longer with us or the number is lost or that we urgently need to use it on a relative's account who do not have a mobile number of their own.)
