Same doubt here. There is a cdsl portal for it but Upstox isn't there, I think they still use the paper method.

No, Upstox don't give e-DIS facility.
I had applied for Upstox DP registration in CDSL but they they didn't authorize.
So, I closed my Upstox. account

Go to eDIS or DIS website or NSDL. you will find an option to transfer shares from one demat to other. Your brothel should be available on the platform.

You can also do old way by sending tranfer request via PAPER FORM.(don't do it by this way. Cumbersome.)

For @bobby_123

I don't know about IPO but shares should be similar thingy?🤔

I am surprised no one has answered. Here it is: https://web.cdslindia.com/myeasitoken/Home...in is the answer. I do it so often: transfer shares from Groww to Dhan and vice versa because I like to keep all IPOs in one Demat. Just takes 15 rupees + GST for a transfer and happens in a day. Google CDSL Easi transfer shares. Lots of literature available.

Broking houses issue D.I. slips (Delivery Instruction Slips or DIS) - which acts just like cheques which we use to pay someone. These slips are to be filled with all the relevant information (in this case the demat number you wish the shares to be transferred), and has to be submitted to your broker's office physically - who after relevant checks execute them for transfers. Here one important thing to keep in mind is - 'Reason for Transfer' and 'Consideration Amount ' as in any amount paid/received in lieu of transfer of these shares - both these are to be filled in DI Slips.

Hope this helps.

Physical DIS, It looks like they (Upstox) do not support CDSL easiest.

https://help.upstox.com/support/solutions/artic...

It's a little hassel, but saves significant money.

If your friend don't have the taxable income, then sell and buy is a better option.

To tranfer shares, first register at CDSL for easi.... thereafter login and upgrade to Easiest where it will ask for recepient CDSL Ac No ......Then form will be generated which should be authorised by upstox/zerodha as it may be.....take a print out sign it and email to upstox/zerodha ....Mine is upstox and I am having POA so upstox sent me form for cancellation of POA .....and after cancellation CDSL easiest registration is approved....I even transferred shares also
