I have them sent to mail instead of SMS and then bulk delete. But it is a hassle and have not found a way to turn it off completely

Pehle main tumhara second hand phone khareedne ka soch raha tha, but now I might skip it.
Pata nahin kya kya cumming hui ho uss phone ke saath.

Idea, Jio par toh REGULARLY myGov ke bhi faltu ke messages aatey hein.
Inn operators ko TRAI bhi apne faltu ke alerts bhejne ko bolti hai.
So those also come. (Do not give money to anyone for tower installation, by seeing any letter on TRAI letterhead.)

Idea keeps reminding us that we still have their number, even if no active pack.
They too send random 'information' messages.
(Indirect way of telling 'number recharge karwa le'.)

I sometimes wonder what happens to the vanity numbers, super premium numbers? Do they also get such spam, after paying thousands to acquire the number.
(Maybe such things are prepaid specific, IDK.)

If those are flash messages, then one can request deactivation of flash messages.

I do not have Jio, but last I checked, the USSD codes on Jio were not doing anything.
This one might have request it from selfcare mode or by reaching out to agents.

Despite full DMD, the loopholes allow the operators to sent random promotions.
BSNL even sends nonsensical promotions.
I am tourimg hotel to hotel and they sent me 'har ghar tiranga' message! I was already upset that I had not seen my own home in 15 days and that message added insult to injury!

Use Microsoft SMS Organizer. It has multiple tabs for different types of messages

Mark these Jio Data usage messages or any message you don't like as "Promotions" and in the app settings , disable notifications for Promotions, You won't be notified when you receive such SMSes.
