I use to keep Rs500/- balance in my two Zerodha and one Sharekhan accounts for the AMC and demat charges. Now with SEBI rule they keep transferring it back to my bank account every quarter. Recently I logged in Zerodha and saw that my balance is negative and they have also charged some penalty for non payment of AMC i think. I am long term passive investor and have old holdings and don’t want to close the accounts. How to maintain balance without them returning it back, zerodha charges every quarter so its a headache to keep track.
Thanks.

Bhai he should just transfer the necessary funds every quarter. That’s it. I will point a thing about sharekhan. OP can give 100000 as initial margin and select Plan 7 in HDFC security. His AMC becomes free.
Fyer’s, Motilal Oswal etc provide AMC free DEMAT accounts. 🙂
I have negative balance in my upstox account and no stock holding, should i pay it or leave it alone ?
IMO there is no option atleast with Zerodha. They say it is a statutory requirement to settle funds every quarter. Hence this problem. No other option but to keep transferring ₹100 every 3 months with a calender reminder.
I logged in my zerodha now after about 1.5 years and see zero balance only. No negative balance for me.
It’s your only demat account and your holding is below 50k?
Anyone have information whether we can move from quarterly maintenance charges to annual maintenance charges in upstox since amc is almost half of quarterly, tried chat support but that stupid robot said this can't be done, how on earth we are not given option whether we want quarterly deductions or annual deductions.
