How to identify fake products selling on online websites

Hi All
I am curious to know how to identify the fake products selling on web sites. Especially grocery products.

Someone mentioned the seller is new so the product may be fake.
Someone mentioned the price is low then the product may be fake.
Someone mentioned the seller rating is low then the product may be fake.

But these all above criteria is s not good enough to identify the fake products

Few more things which help to identify the fake products
Like-

Spelling of the product
Expiry date/Manufacturing date
Batch number
Etc...

Call customer care or email them with batch number and other details they ask for and they may help.

For example ,

i raised a complaint with amul for spoiled milk and they asked the above details and told me they have not directly distributed the milk to dmart and told me that this milk was supplied to another distributor and they might inturn be supplying to dmart.

In this chain someone is not storing milk as per required temperature and hence the curded milk.

Dmart told me they are storing milk as per norms which is evident ( we can see their chilling unit)

So amul passed a message to the distributor to supply milk before 9am and closed the case.

During all this someone was calling me from amul to explain the progress.

Ground level is it changed ? I dont know, for a few days i saw milk coming befor 9am and after that as usual 😀

So i stopped buying from there.

I wonder if this is really common - youtube videos are just to get eyeballs I'm not believing them yet.

The profit margin in even genuine products is already razor thin, so going through a lot of work to create a fake seems like a big ordeal. Those criminals would probably find it easier doing other stuff like printing fake notes or meth trade and such.

The real danger to public health these days is the ultra processed sugar and salt heavy food loaded with permitted preservatives, food colors and other chemicals.

Reviews + buy from genuine stores. There is no sure shot way to identify if the product is genuine before consuming it
