I have the shares, if I sell, I will need to pay income tax.
will it be possible through Easiest for Sharkhan to Zerodha [different PAN here]
You're tending to do an "out of market" txn, either with DIS, or e-DIS (easiest or whatever from CDSL), quite complex, but zerodha has an in console feature to gift shares that I know, but never done as no need has arisen ever...
But
Even if you send the shares to your wife's account, source of the buy is only considered at the time of sale.
So the Income will ultimately be clubbed with yours. So this is useless.
Receiver is liable to pay tax when receiver sells.
There are a lot of youtube videos that can guide you in this regard. Please see atleast 2 different videos to do it. Also, you should check if the source demat account is opened with which depository, CDSL or NDSL. CDSL has Easiest portal for this purpose while NDSL has SPEEDe.
If you’re new to all this and the videos seem too complicated, just sell the shares and receive money in you account and then transfer the money and then buy the shares again. It’s time taking but it’s safe.
Directly buy in her account?
OR
Transfer using Easiest
