I also faced same issue. Still waiting for refund. Not sure if it will be automatically refunded or IĀ have to raise some request.

I saw a post few days ago on DD that you get 1% cashback on payment of HDFC bank bill on SBI Unipay using HDFC Bank Debit Card.
I tried a payment of 5k and it failed as in my money was debited but the payment was not successful. They said if money was debited, it would be reverted in 3-5 days. This was on 21stĀ March. I have still not received my money back.
I emailed their complaint email address day before yesterday but no replyĀ yet. Does anyone know how I can get my money back as it is not an insignificant sum.Ā

Yes I know, and the answer is by waiting more you can receive your refund.Ā
It's SBI it takes times. I had once received a refund after 15 days. Just don't worry, your money is safe. Just have some patience
It gets credited automatically. Debit cards usually tend to receive refunds a little later than other payment methods.
Calculate 7 working days from the date of your payment, you will receive it before that.

Wait for two weeks else you can always raise a dispute
THIS IS SERIOUS I HAVE MADE PAYMENT OF 100RS ON SBI UNIPAY ON 30 DEC'23 USING TATA NEU INFINITY.Its 3months already and i have not received no refund till now.
Complain kar lo sbi ko ya apne bank ko.. chargeback bhi raise nahi hoga agar bahut late hoga
I also waiting for the refund debited 7000 but see 70 in failed txn page
@abhishek012 A weird thing happened, I received refund yesterday but then it was debited back. When I called HDFC they informed that SBI claimed the amount again, so it was debited again. I am not satisfied with the answer. Do you think this might have happened because of financial year ending?Ā
Anyways they have raised a complaint for the same.

Subject:Complaint about Failed Transaction and Missing Refund
Dear support team,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue I recently encountered with a transaction on your platform.
On Mar21,2024,I attempted to make a credit card payment through your website. However, to my disappointment, the transaction failed to go through successfully. Despite the failed transaction, the amount was deducted from my account.
I waited for a reasonable amount of time expecting the refund to be processed, but unfortunately, I have not received it yet. This has caused me inconvenience and frustration.
I kindly request your prompt assistance in resolving this matter and issuing the refund at your earliest convenience. Your attention to this issue is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
Amount : Rs. 500
Mobile : xxxxxxxxxx
Ref num : xxxxxxxxx
Credit card : HDFC Bank ending with xxxx
Thanks,
I mailed this email on 27th March but got no reply back. I did however get the refund yesterday.
I have received my refund after just two working days since the transaction day. I am happy with the fast processing time, and I think I can claim to be the fastest refund receiver. My transaction was made on April 6th, and today, I received an email from [email protected] stating that the refund has been successfully credited. I am now hoping that HDFC Bank will credit my money by the end of tomorrow, April 10th, 2024.
Here are the steps I took to get my refund quickly:
1. I took a screenshot of the SBI UNIPAY page, which showed that payment was debited. I sent an email to [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected], attaching the screenshot. Luckily, only BBPS SBI responded to me within 11 minutes. They said that the refund would come in 3-5 working days.
2. I was not sure about this, so I also emailed the HDFC Classic Banking Desk and HDFC Support. I then emailed the Nodal Officer to inform both parties to reverse my refund back. Despite this, I was still not convinced, so I emailed [email protected]. I also copied [email protected] and blind copied [email protected] and [email protected].
3. After that, I tweeted on Twitter to the BBPS (Bharat Bill Payment Service) Page. They took some screenshots from me and said to wait for some time. Later on, the SBI Merchant email ID responded to me with a screenshot.
I made sure to email every possible contact with HDFC Bank, SBI, and BBPS to speed up the refund process.
Only [email protected] is enough.
That's who I mailed after transaction and got refund on the 7th day.
For me i got 2 transaction failed in SBI Unipay,Ā
1)Ā one transaction Rs.1500 to payĀ "HDFC business money backĀ credit card"Ā Ā from "HDFC platinumĀ debit card" failed on 25 March 2024 refunded onĀ 9th April 2024
2) one transaction Rs. 1000 to pay "SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card" from "Axis Ace Credit Card" failed on 2nd April 2024 refunded on 4th April 2024
so from 3 days to 1 month they will auto refund so dont worry, no need to raise all emails:) unless you want refund quick:)
Note: credit card failure gets refunded quickly than debit card failure
Got refund after 14 days. Just had to wait.
No amount of emailing these useless email ID's and twitter handles helped.
None of them reply lol.
Worst is BBPS twitter handle, they just waste your time...
I did Rs. 1,000 worth credit card bill payment on 31-Mar-2024 and there's been no sign of refund yet. Even the transaction doesn't show up in 'Transaction History' section on SBI Unipay website after logging in via mobile number.
What to do? This is daylight robbery and it's not even a fake website š£
P.S. Payment was done via HDFC Bank debit card

What should customers do in the case of a failed transaction on SBI UniPay?
For your failed credit card transactions using SBI Unipay and refunds you can register your complaint online on SBIās customer support portal, on email ids [email protected] or [email protected], and still not received any resolution after 3-4 working days, send an email at [email protected] with the complete details of your concern, mentioning the case ID in the subject line. The case ID will be provided while registering the complaint online or sending the mail with the transaction details on the support IDs mentioned above.
āIf the payment was successful and the credit card bill payment failed from the merchant's end (SBI Unipay), then it's SBI Unipay's (merchant) responsibility to look into this,ā says Mandal. But if the SBI is asking to contact the source bank, as it happened for Ajay Kumar, then the customer should contact them and get clarification.
āIn case there is no response from the SBI on your emails, you can tag SBI (@TheOfficialSBI) on social media platform X and post your issue,ā says Mandal.
If the SBI or your source bank does not solve your problem you can file a complaint with the RBI ombudsman. Remember one thing, file a complaint with your bank first, then wait 30 days for resolution. āIf your bank doesn't solve your problem within 30 days, then you can move the RBI banking ombudsman,ā says Mandal. If you do not get a satisfactory resolution from your bank; you can move the RBI banking ombudsman within 30 days.
As per an RBI guidance issued on September 20 2019, a bank must compensate its customers if failed transactions do not get refunded within T+5 days. Mandal says as per the RBI guidelines customers can ask for Rs 100 per day compensation if the refund doesn't happen within five days after making the transaction (account debited but confirmation not received at merchantās system).
In the case of the due date for the bill being missed due to a payment failure while using a payment aggregator, who will bear the late payment fees?
In the case of payment failure for utility bills or a credit card bill, the customer needs to pay the late payment fees. Itās advisable to pay the bills at least 4 to 5 days before the due date while using the payment aggregator services.
