How to delete UAN ?

I had no idea about UAN account.
Now I got an offer from HDFC but after verification they found a uan of mine but that is completely inoperative but now HDFC asking for exit Letter and all but they didn't gave me any such documents as I didn't complete a year saying 3 month employment is not valid.
Want to delete the UAN

U cannot delete uan number
the degrading gift with belated interest credit (i.e 1 year once compounding i think)
just bare safety for some and curse for many (as many withdraws using fake reasons and get it utilized without letting it do that compounding)
and on a whim Govt will change the interest rate
But for such situation, I do not think much would happen.
Just in case, check if [email protected] has something to say.
Can ask them or tell them the possibility of complete closure, if one is migrating (abroad) for good, surrendering citizenship.. THEN .. can they (close)?
Just mark exit from uan website, and see what happens next
His new company is asking about his old job ( 3 months).
I think he had not mentioned in resume or interview about it .

I too have same situation have 2 uan and able to login in both of them at any time

UAN is linked to aadhaar
SO YOU CAN RECOVER IT EASILY by using aadhaar verification in epfo website
and then use that UAN number and give it to your new employer, to make your new employer use it
(IT CANT BE DELETED, IT MUST BE REUSED every time in every new company you join, with the same UAN number)
This is very serious issue, and you could potentially lose your job.
Firstly, you cannot delete any UAN. and having 2 UAN is illegal. You can ask HDFC to open a new UAN and you can deactivate/merge old UAN to it.
Or you can use the same UAN and HDFC will create new PF account under it. You must raise request to update exit date of old company in your previous PF account and make sure you transfer funds from old PF to new PF.
Please try to keep everything genuine and legitimate. Contact your previous employer and ask them to provide exit certificate or reliving letter. Keep everything on email. If they still do not provide you exit certificate, show these emails to your new employer.
Going forward, whenever you switch jobs make sure you follow proper process. Otherwise you may end up never getting onboarded to these corporate jobs despite good skills but bad and suspicious background.
