- I wanted 3.3KW DCR solar system setup, so contacted Adani and Waaree. I have also contacted over 6+ local vendors. Prices of local vendors are ripoff, going from Rs 1.9L to Rs 2L total project cost.
- Then I figured out that best way would be to buy panels myself (or entire kit) & just go with installation, GI Stand & support from vendor (for subsidy). Tried talking about this with few vendors and they all refused. Recently contacted Waaree & they said they will provide support & GI Stand at around Rs 20 to Rs 40k & will also get subsidy & other processes done by them.
- Avoid Government Empaneled vendors. They earn via Solar Panels as they charge Rs 8-10/watt on panels. This provides them with over Rs 25 to Rs 30000 earnings just via solar panels on a 3.3kw setup.

DCR panels are those solar panels or modules wherein the solar cell and solar module are manufactured in India.While in Non-DCR panels the solar cell and solar module are not designed and manufactured in India.
If you require govt subsidy – Install DCR ( Domestic Content Requirement ) panels aka panels from Indian manufacturers that belong to Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM).
If you don’t require govt subsidy - Install non-DCR.It’s as simple as that.
DCR policy helps to boost the manufacturing sector, create jobs, promote the ‘Make in India’ initiative, reduce our dependence on solar parts from other countries & to make it cost-competitive in the global market.Waree ,Vikram Solar, Renewsys Solar are the leading players.Currently there are 82 enlisted manufacturers in the ALMM list,Adani & Tata are part of that list but when someone has to run certain propaganda he/she resorts to cherry picking shamelessly tsk tsk tsk 😜😆

As India is challenging China's dominance in PV manufacturing,some people having vested interests obviously won't want that to happen.Solar power gonna help decrease our dependency on fossil fuels it also holds the key to India’s emergence as a significant industrial power.💪🏼

Even with subsidies prices are not competitive with what china has to offer. In the end we end up paying wayyy more. It does not matter much to end consumer whether panels are getting manufactured in china or by adani. CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING FOR HUGE SUBSIDIES THAT COMPANIES ARE GETTING UNDER ALMM. (These companies are then making fat profits, gross margin 25-30%)
The price crashed only after CHINA pumped billions into this sector to show the world what can be done and to make the prices damn competitive.
Just like India bought large quantities of crude during price crash back in 2020, we should do the same now. Utilize the price crash to our advantage instead of penalizing, ramp up solar plants.
When the same item is avl for 1/3 the price why will you pay more?

Rahi baat India ki toh R&D me kharche hote hai, companies ko long term ka sochna parta hai like agar koi pandemic he aa gaya toh next 3 to 5 years k liye sochna parta hai,
China apne GDP ka approx 3 times debt utha liya hai, Democracy me like India me debt ko ek galat nazar se dekha jata hai. Jo ki kuch chizo me sahi bhi hai.
China se compare nahi kar sakte hai.
India me govt k kuch rules hote hai like Adani jaise big companies agar saste me sell karne lage toh koi choti new solar company us price me de nahi payega jisse competition khatam ho jayega.
