Then even kids below 15 years of age too have same green channel allowances as the ladies (40 grams or hundred thousand INR, whichever is less).

Last I checked or if my memory serves me right, the limit for males was 20 grams or INR50000₹ (either/or, whichever is less).
And upto one spouse/wife of the male can bring twice that much (non ornament) gold from the green channel.
Likewise for underage kids below 15 years of age, twice the free allowances (so 40 grams/ ₹100000INR, whichever is less) when coming back as normal tourists.
Under "transfer of residence", one can import used household effects and even higher quantities of ornaments.
Yes, about ornaments, if your spouse (So long as she identifies herself as a woman, and genetically is a woman) can even wear half a kilogram of gold ornaments and walk out of the green channel. At most, if asked, she can nonchalantly mention that yeah these¿ i got these at the time of my marriage or that while going to Dubai, I had taken my ornaments from India.
If pushed too much, can claim that we attended wedding functions/ other functions in Dubai so had taken them.
But even the officers know the reality and as the rules allow women to wear jewellery (old looking ornaments) and not pay import duty on it.. one can smuggle extra gold from Dubai too.
If you have any underage kids below the age of 15 years, then some gold (I think 40 grams per kid) can be imported by them too, via the green channel (duty free).

Long back, the going rate for getting a posting at the port.. for even a junior or mid-level customs officer used to be 3 crore rupees. Now it much be higher (bribes to get posted at immigration or at passenger check points).
Officers usually do not waste much time on small fish. They would rather trap the big fish, revover the bribes they paid, by taking bribes.
So yeah, acting like 'small fish' helps. They then are on the lookout for big fish. (Not as big as son of SRK. Usmey baad mein khud hee jail jaana pad sakta hai nn.)
