German - taking the B2 exam this month and then a C1 course this year. This makes German my #2 language in terms of skills.
Italian - will be B1 by May 2024, then a B2 course
Russian - A1, used to be A2 but stopped learning and using the language when I dropped out of the A2-B1 course in 2022 because the teacher simply cannot teach and only read from an exercise book. But I love this language and want to work on it.
French - A1, hopefully will start an A2 course this year. Was supposed to do it this year but MU scrapped the course because they didn't have enough participants.
On my to-learn-in-the-distant-future list: Japanese, Hungarian, Dutch, Norwegian, Estonian, Finnish

mastery in native Tamil in both classical and oral form. Can understand and converse in Malayalam (Tamil's nearest cousin ) But thinking in English only last 40 years as mostly resided abroad. Due to studying sanskrit while very young, can read Devanagri and understand Hindi script . but will insist on speaking in English only when spoken to in Hindi by apparently educated people. I will speak in Hindi only when forced in street situations to get the job done. Can understand Spanish as lived in california and managed a work force of all mexicans . also can understand basic Cantonese as Hongkong was home for a long time before moving to usa after china take over. Can understand both Teleugu and Kannada but ofcourse will reply back in english or in Hindi if the person spoken to blinks. I do love listening to French& Spanish pop /opera /ballads etc. Language spoken at home mostly English with wifey and kid. Native tongue only with brothers /sisters /older relatives. so may not talk mother tongue for months even .
