Friends, I am in bad need to upgrade my refrigerator as we are family of 7 ppl and current 250L is proving extremely small. i was always thinking I will buy a 500+ ltr double door one once the sale starts but then I visited croma yday with family and we all figured side by side suits our need better. I am seeing this below one on amazon at good discount using SBI credit card and it is also giving me around 9k exchange value for my existing 250L fridge. Please can you suggest if this a good deal and a refrigerator that will last for 8-10 yrs?

TIA for help and suggestion.

Bro.. I saw a very similar and same sized LG side by side in Croma and found it very good.. Only thing that was different is it was convertible and with wifi whereas this model has neither but these features are not that useful to me.. And the croma one was of 83k after hdfc card discount whereas this one is 59k with SBI cc.. And exchange value also decent

Thanks bro.. I actually saw both Samsung and LG side by side refrigerators at Croma yday and found that the LG ones have better plastic quality trays and also the trays in both the doors are far more deeper hence more space..and the inside compartments were having same space.. Even the person showing me fridges told me same that LG has better quality and space.. So I narrowed on LG.. Also I figured that convertible won't be of much use to me unless it is a 4 door one where I can convert 3 sections to fridge and 1 to freezer, hence not narrowing down on convertible model which is around 8-10k more.

I am having hard time related to this refrigerator due to its size delivery guys could not get it inside the house. They told that it has to be unboxed and then can be moved in due to packaging. The installation guy came alone and could not help. I was told by amazon to call lg for more manpower. Any solution for this?

That's the problem buying online. No such problems with croma or reliance. Call for labour help around you like security guards.

Recently purchased but a different design. Any branded refrigerator comes for more than 10 years easily. There are no moving parts in it like AC so life is long. I found Reliance price was better when I bought with cards than online.

I think croma/reliance will price match if they have same refrigerator available.. but the only major difference I am finding is in the exchange value of my existing fridge.. Croma said they will consider giving scrape value like 1000, whereas amazon is giving 8550 minus 200.

@freebaba @LordGane @amit.mint @thereguser  Just as an update to all.. I eventually ended up buying the Samsung 653 ltr side by side convertible refrigerator from flipkart on 6th Oct.. it was for 79990 and 3k discount and my HDFC cc gave me another 13500 off and I also got 6500 for exchange so in effect it was costing me around 58k which to me was a very good price for a convertible side by side .. I was eagerly waiting for it to get it on Dusshera day and to give a surprise gift to my family but the a**h*** delivery person didnt come even when product was out for delivery.. after waiting for entire day I called delivery person in evening who picked up after multiple attempts and who told me he will not deliver the product as he can not carry such a large refrigerator to the service lift in my society.. I told him all the service lifts are big enough and also there are hand carts which he can use to carry from van to lift, but he said he will not and asked me to cancel the order and then never picked up again. I raised this to flipkart on call who took my complaint against delivery person and I kept on following up every day but the refrigerator never came and today flopkart cancelled my ordered and refunded my money.. I am extremely sad as I had eventually told my family the day after Dusshera that I was going to gift them this large fridge but there is some delay.. and more so because the same fridge was available on Amazon but discount was with SBI card and I don't have an SBi card so had to borrow from someone (which I could have easily managed) whereas I did have HDFC card hence went ahead with Flipkart.

I don't think now I will be able to buy this fridge unless similar deal comes in near future. sad sad sad

@stranger333 -- That's sad. And I totally understand the frustration.
Having said that, between the two, always prefer Amazon. That's what I do!

@thereguser @LordGane  @freebaba  @amit.mint Need urgent advise from you experts.. so Flipkart never did anything to resolve my case and just refunded my money back to credit card.. now just today I see that Amazon is giving good exchange value and hence the LG 655ltr refrigerator after exchange of my samsung double door fridge and after ICICI credit card discount is costing me 51k, whereas the Samsung 654ltr is costing me 62k.. the LG is non-convertible and a 2023 model whereas Samsung is convertible and says 2024 model.. however the power consumption on both seems same as 570 units annual when I did search on google.. given the difference of 11k between these 2 models, which one do you suggest in terms of value for money and worry free life of the product?

TIA for all your help. 🙏🏻

Both products are good and are from trustworthy brands. 11K is sizable, 20%, premium. If you have no use case for 'convertible' feature, I would say go for LG.
