You need to install windows on ssd & whichever drive windows is installed in becomes C drive.

@RajaNageshwarNath - Run msinfo32.exe which will open 'System Information', take a screenshot and share it here. You may strike out username or any other info you feel should not be shared. This will help understand the config.

Look at increasing RAM first. You can probably get 4 Gb RAM cards for around 500 for 4 year old laptops.
SSD would require a much higher investment.
