Help! Someone using my number to call random people!

I checked my recent dialled numbers everytime but there was nothing so i called customer care and asked them whether i called these numbers and they clearly told me that i haven't made any calls to those numbers. Basically these "missed calls" from my number actually isn't going through my telecom service provider network so i am guessing some lowlife is using any spoofing software to disturb me but i don't know why would someone do that. Please suggest what should i do and how to file a cyber complaint if i need to do this.

best option is to format the phone because if you clicked any malcious link without knowing it can cause problem.After format i will also suggest to reissue the sim in case on sim clonning.
Ok i will try that but i think if it was a case of sim cloning then such "hackers" may try to contact people from my contact list or may be they would use sms services to get access to banking apps or anything personal which isnt the case. Anyways thanks for the suggestion i will format the device.
Bro is your device rooted? Secondly, there is no need to worry if you are on the right side. Send an email to customer service confirming that you have not placed any such calls. If required, your innocence can be proved through call detail record (CDR).
No, my device isn't rooted. Plus i can download call records through jio app and it doesn't show their number in dialled list, customer care also confirmed this. They suggest to dial a number to disable any call forwarding, if activated, which i did as well but it didn't solve anything.
Download Call record from my Jio app, it will show all the outgoing calls from your number.
Already done. Again, No call dialled from my number today but received a call around 11.45am claiming that he received miscall from my number just 5 min ago (11.40am).
From what I have read, it seems like someone is spoofing your number. I'm not sure what you can do but maybe complain to some authority regarding this so you don't get blamed for this, incase something happens.
Yes, high chances it is spoofing. The most frustrating thing is when these people call i explain the issue to them politely even if i receive 5-6 calls back to back from different people, specially when there is a lady on the other side, to make sure it doesn't create any problem for me. But I get frustrated and I don't know if i can keep myself calm for long if it continues.
Koi naya scam to nahi aaya? People calling you saying you called them and harrassing for money?
As of now it doesn't look like that but who knows, thats why i made this thread if anyone else facing the same and can expose such scam. I am not sure what is their motive but they are definitely using spoofing software.
Then Ur Angry Related Frnd/ Relative /Beloved Ones Might Be Spoofing With Ur Number...If A Person Lifted Phone Call With Spoofed Number Then He Will Be Charged With Some Credits Hence Giving Missed Calls.
Or Someone Installed Local Calling Apps By Registering Ur Phone Number , Means He Saw OTP Displayed On Ur Phone.
How spoofing is done?
How is it possible to call from some other number but display some other number to the receiver ?
Is there any App? And is there any possible way for the call receiver to see the actual number?
It may be that these people who called you are part of a syndicate who have found a new way of scamming people. Everyday you hear of new ways that scammers are scamming others. It's better to not pick calls from people not in your contact list. Scamming has increased a lot after data got cheap. People basically now want free money. So it's best to not fall for such tactics from scammers
In jio delhi, few mnths back, i made a call, within second i started listening 2 guys talking, and call doesnt get connected.
Happend 2-3 times in a day, its a network issue.
Afaik there isnt anything wrong with your device as such, there are applications where you can literally enter any no as the calling number and place calls.
So someone might have entered a random no. which turns out to be your number and hence all the drama.
So I guess you cant do much in this case. Just chill.
Last year I used to receive calls from various numbers stating that I am giving missed calls.
Then there was this one particular guy who used to call me repeatedly stating that I am giving missed calls to his wife. He then one day started abusing me and claiming that he knows me and I am having affair with his wife.
Then suddenly I received a call from Thane Police station and they stated that someone has raised complaint against me.
Immediately realised that this was a part of scam
