I am confused which is to be used when? And which is better for making filter coffee?

Used 1st one, need to put boiled water on top, u can not directly keep on stove and heat.

Easy to maintain and good for 1-2 cups need

2nd option goes on stove directly, size is also big I guess - no exp

For Filter coffee conventional filter i.e is the first one best. Brass or stainless steel doesn't matter but quality and the make does matter. Tried 3-4 online ones before getting the perfect one.
