HDFC Infinia card pros & cons

Recently I have been offered an upgrade of my HDFC Regalia (LTF) to HDFC Infinia credit card on a chargeble basis (12,500+GST).

My RM tried to explain to me that this is the topmost card of the bank & is only offered on invitation basis, I want your suggestions, if I should take it or not?

I have seen the details at HDFC site & it is a good card but should I put in the amount of annual fees asked for the benefit given?

Any pros or cons & other suggestions are also welcome.

It is a Very good Card with great benefits. Before accepting it ask RM for LTF and most people get it as well without annual charges.

With recent devaluations with all HDFC cards including Infinia annual charges look too high.

Yes, earlier the same card was having annual fees of 10k +gst but they increased it to 12,500+gst since Oct'21.

Infinia used to give 33.33% on amazon and AGV via smartbuy. Those days are gone.

Even today though you can get around 14% on AGV (max 5k/month), if you can use those points for travel/dth/ or apple/tanishq gv. Similarly its base rewards of 3.3% is quite good if you are a heavy spender.

Infinia shines if you are a traveller and lead premium lifestyle. Golfs / 5* restaurant BOGO Buffet, unlimited lounges anywhere in the world etc..

If you have a good relationship with HDFC, push your RM to make this LTF.

A new RM has been assigned to me. Among other things he is really trying to convince me to go for portfolio management from them and looking at the credit card bill payments going from my HDFC accounts [3 accounts] (to get 1% cashback on 2 x platinum DC & 2.5% Millenium DC) he is offering me this but not yet offered to reduce or waive off the fees on Infinia.

It depends on your needs. Check the perks and privileges being offered with the card carefully before taking a decision. There are quite a few services bundled in, which you may not be able to avail. If you don't have a golf course nearby, or don't travel often or watch movies and so on, then you may want to question if you're willing to pay 12.5K for (admittedly) a lot of reward points. Would taking this card make you shell out more than you'd want just to reap some benefits you didn't want in the first place?

So, ultimately, look at the features bundled in, check whether your needs vis-a-vis credit card are being met with this card, and that you're OK paying the cost for a premium experience.

If it's offered LTF, take it without hesitation.

take it

Get welcome benefit of 12,500 reward points upon fee realisation and card activation

Renewal benefit 12,500 Reward Points* upon fee realisation and card activation

So its like ur paying only GST annually; although 12500RP is not exactly 12500Rs
