HDFC CC Dispute: Provisional Credit reversed

I had raised a dispute with HDFC for a transaction of Rs. 2400.

Since the merchant had mentioned a possible refund of Rs. 2000 in the email conversation, which I had shared with HDFC, HDFC provisionally credited only that amount to my account & mentioned that the final decision will decide the rest later.

They credited my account with Rs. 2K as provisional credit in 1st week of August. This week, they've reversed it back & debited the same amount from my card.

Now I'm in a net loss of Rs. 2400 (the original transaction).

They haven't given any update on the dispute, just taken back the amount.

I wanna know from those who've experienced this, is it any indication of me losing/winning the dispute or something?

Whether they have given you option to claim the amount in bank account? In my case they provisionally credit the amount in card and after few day they reverse the credited amount and I received a mail to click a link and claim the amount in hdfc Bank account by filling bank account no. In 2 days the amount got credited in my bank.
