Hello Dimers

I am planning for 2nd savings bank account with HDFC, but I dont want to shell out 25k for MAB in MAX variant account of HDFC

So I want to use only 10k as MAB for this new 2nd Account so any trick to get this????

In past I heard that if we open account at another branch then 10k normal savings account is possible with HDFC?

Any one please suggest your views on this? and if you have any other tricks on Sleeves do keep them commminnnggggggg

Awaiting eagerly to see who has the best methods xDDDDD hehehehe

Update: We can easily open HDFC 2nd bank account for just 10k minimum balance in same branch provided we have valid reason and the branch approves it:) ((state your reason of why you need it)) , so dont need 25k max account

But this 2nd account has to be done via physical form (so not with just aadhaar otp)

Just applied myself by visiting branch today:)

Hoping to receive cheque and debit card soon:) in 4 business days:)

You can get a different product take a savings max 25k mab account for free debit card

If 10K account debit card wasn't free, move platinum debit card to savings max account and get millenia on 10K account

Well I already have classic upgrade on my present 10k account

so i want a 10k account  again (dont want to lock MAB of 25k)

also if i can get that 2nd account, I think i can link that 2nd HDFC account under my classic programme to make its debit card free as well;)

which is my plan actually

so need 10k MAB account from HDFC as 2nd account so need loop hole for it

someone said another branch bank will open 2nd account with 10k AMB so not sure, is that possible want to confirm that using this post:) hehe

Sorry for offtopic questions. I opened preferred account for mom on the basis of my preferred account. Got an instant kit with platinum dc. The RM after 2-3 calls converted/linked my mom's account with mine and made it preferred as well. In the meantime 885 was deducted from her account balance.

On calling RM he refused to refund and said it will be charged for the first time.

HDFC CC person said to contact the home branch.

Is it the normal process in HDFC?

Yes, it seems like the process you've described is fairly typical for HDFC Bank. When you open a Preferred account, there are certain fees and charges associated with the account. According to the information available on HDFC Bank's website¹, the annual fee for a Preferred Platinum Chip Debit Card is Rs. 750¹. However, this fee is waived as long as you are part of the HDFC Bank Preferred Banking Programme¹.

The deduction of Rs. 885 from your mom's account could be related to these charges. It's also possible that the charge is related to the conversion of the account to a Preferred account.

If you have any concerns about the charges, I would recommend reaching out to the home branch as suggested by the HDFC customer care representative. They should be able to provide more specific information about the charges and whether they can be refunded.

Remember, it's always important to read the terms and conditions carefully and understand any fees or charges that may apply. I hope this information helps! 😊

I just wanted to know easy low cost things to maintain HDFC account:) that too multiple account for same PAN, so hmm thinking cheaper ways:)

yes 3L is nice amount to get TRV and more perks:)

but 3L is not cheap:) i mean the opportunity cost is high:) that I miss by gaining in other source instead of keeping money in FD:) but ya easy way
