HDFC Classic/ Preferred accounts can be possible with fd. the criteria for classic banking is 5 lakh fd. visit the nearest branch to confirm.

well just start with basic 10k account and do lot of transactions like 2 or 3 lakhs for 3 months EVERY MONTH and you will get the option for upgrade to classic
