Pookalam: Also known as Athapookalam, this vibrant rangoli
is traditionally made by families before sunrise to decorate
their doorways
Pulikali (Tiger Dance) is one among the folk art forms of Kerala.
On the fourth day of Onam festival, artists paint their bodies
like tigers with stripes of yellow, red and black and dance
to the rhythm of traditional percussion instruments such
as thakil, udukku and chenda
Boat races are a major part of the Onam festival in Kerala, India,
and are known as Vallamkali
Onam is a time when their erstwhile King visits them and
He likes to see everyone having a feast

Some of my most precious childhood memories are associated with Onam, as a close friend and his family always invited us around the time of festivities and thst to as a normal family member.
Like.. okay you do this, you put this here. Oksy you baby sit this child and then even if we did nit always understand the rituals.. we would still be accepted and asked to stsnd nearby or be part of them.. like the rest of the family did.
The world was far less fractured then (than what it is now).
Childhood memories are the sweetest ones shot in 3D.
Nowadays people don't celebrate themselves ,lest invite others
I too had a childhood when people of the all the neighbourhood
knows every one and their festivals are far more enjoyed.
