Guys I'm facing green line issues in my samsung M52 after the update. It's been almost 2 years since I bought the mobile but never had accidental damage to it . Now the service center is not replacing it . Samsung is also denying their fault. What can be done?IMG-20240801-WA0052

Unethical business practices.

Each and every connected devices can be forced to get into malfunction/defective using connected servers sending & receiving data.

TV, AC, refrigerator, Washing machine nothing is spared.

Repair or upgrade is only alternative

This is common, searchfor old threads here. Never update midrange phones ever.

The problem is these brands push their updates without extensive testing on older models. They are more concerned about showing new sales in their earning reports.

Every brand is guilty of this - sometimes the cameras stop working, phone starts freezing or similar display issues.

I guess nothing can be done. Free screen replacement is not available for M series devices.

Haan that's the issue..it seems people buying 20k handsets are nothing for the samsung.. that's the reason they are losing the market share to moto and and other competitors

Did you drop it or maybe water damage ? 1 Year is covered under warranty. Get it checked at a repair shop, if it's not a loose display connector, you will need to replace your display.

it happens because of heat is what i heard... so after the uupdate means the update is heating the mobile phone which is tearing the screen connectors which makes this green or pink lines..

heat is the issue mostly, so this happened might be because of update, the new software is heating the system and the screen is showing scars of it

THIS!
I have had not green lines but green / yellow tint develop on a Note8, S9, S20 and S22 Ultra at my home. In the first three it was a few days after an update but in the S22 Ultra it was immediately after a heavy photography session from a teen caused the phone to become hot. That confirms that heat is the issue and not really the update.

Luckily for the S22 Ultra, Samsung came out with a free screen replacement for a limited time and I was able to get mine replaced. The previous 3 phones were exchanged for newer Galaxy S's which ensured they got me Rs 5-11k value despite the discoloured displays.

I agree, but this issue of AMOLED lines is a happens only to a small number ( percentage) of users who update their phone... But it has happened to all the companies and all the brand, including Apple ( Pro max models). Unlike most other issues related with update, it's a hardware issue.

I am running my phone on 2 year old OS without any lag or delay in response.

They make the phones slower by giving the updates, so the customer has to upgrade the phone forcefully. Apple and Samsung are top in this list.

Same happened with me.

I am using Vivo X70 pro from past 2 years....on 01st August 2024 I opened Au Bank app then instantly green line appeared, visited at vivo service centre on 06 August.....and they told me that display will be changed without any cost under extended warranty but as of now display not available so you need to wait 3-4 working days....... Some people mentioned on YouTube that vivo x70 pro display not availabe so service centre provided them vivo v29/ X80 Pro

According to vivo customer support my complaint should be closed on 12 August, if not then I need to contact customer support and they will provide resolution....

I hope "Display Kanhi Bhi Na Mile Or Mujhe Bhi New Phone De De🥲

You know the obvious and simple advice - use the phone till it dies.
It is just an annoyance that won't bother you as much after a few days. Whatever you do, you are unlikely to get more than Rs 500 for the phone. So might as well extract another 1-2 yrs out of it unless the entire display dies or the motherboard fries.

It's an option if the OP is fortunate enough that the issue is limited to the one green line only but I have come across Oneplus flagships ( almost always use Samsung OLED panels ) sporting multiple lines of various colors! One device exhibited green, pink and yellow lines.

Timely article by the Ken - paywalled unfortunately.

"Talk of timing. In 2022, Samsung decided it wanted to sell more premium phones and shifted its strategy away from volume sales.

It was also the year when a slew of its smartphone models started showing a green-line glitch which is so persistent that customers not just in India, but a few other countries, are bewildered as to why the phone giant is not fixing it. Either through manufacturing or customer service.

Imagine users, after having paid anywhere between Rs 27,000 and Rs 1.2 lakh (for the Samsung S22 Ultra launched February 2022) waking up to a green line on their phone screens. A glint that, over time, becomes more than an aesthetic annoyance.

Anyone who’s dealt with customer care in such cases knows the runaround can be painful. It’s worse when an OEM like Samsung has been adding and subtracting models from its list of phones eligible for screen replacement.

The Ken has learnt that the issue is so widespread and acute that as many as 100 users report the case per week.

“These customer visits go one of two ways, depending on how disagreeable a customer is. The bigger the fight they put up, it increases their chance of getting a free screen replacement,” said one service centre owner.

Timing again? Samsung did not respond to The Ken’s list of questions shared last week but the same day, its global office issued a release that it’s increasing efforts in this area—especially in India.

But when the solution to this ‘software’ problem is not a one-time fix, can Samsung add premium customer care to its premiumisation move?"

Third-party OLED displays aren't inexpensive and they can go bad within a really short period of time. Need to pursue all possible avenues incl. escalating to the Samsung CEO's office if possible. Lastly the consumer helpline.
