Though a friend fulfills all the needs of life but physical intimacy is only possible with your partner. In friendship, there is compassion and trust but in a relationship, there is a romantic touch. Physical intimacy gives you a sense of belongingness, and trust.

For example, I can point out statements, thoughts based on assumptions.
I cam also point out the underlying crux of those statements itself being fallacious.
History has shown and even personally know of those who never experienced (what you refer to as) physical intimacy and they still have had relatively complete lives, wholesome lives.
Not quite sure if increased sense of belongingness and higher trust are ALWAYS corelated to just 'physical intimacy'.
Hopefully we can agree on it that
emotional connect and physical intimacy are two separate things.
Hopefully we can also agree on it that
emotional connect and physical intimacy need not necessarily have a positive correlation in all instances.
In such cases, where the emotional connect gets depleted or was never there to.behin with... those two things.. increased sense of belongingness and higher trust.. may not play out as suggested by you.. purely on 'physical intimacy'.
Both bouquets and brickbats anticipated and welcome, if for valid reason/ reasoning.
