Recently I paid for fuel first time from credit card ( amazon icici ). I paid 202rs. On card it is showing 204.38rs and 'reversal of fuel surcharge' is given 2.02rs. Can someone help me understand the basic calculation behind this?

Fuel surcharge waiver is 1% ...so 1% of 202 rs is 2.02 rs

Fuel surcharge is only 1%. Rest is pos charges for cc and some tax

Fuel cost = Rs 202

Surcharge (1%) = Rs 2.02

GST on the surcharge (18%) = 2.02 * 0.18 = 0.38

Total comes to Rs 204.38 - you got charged for this amount. You get reversal of only surcharge and not on GST paid
