Eligible beneficiaries of the free gas cylinder scheme launched by Andhra Pradesh government this morning have started receiving SMS from IOCL. Interestingly, the beneficiaries do not need to submit any application to the government for this scheme. People who have Ration Card, Aadhaar Card, Bank Account and LPG GAS connection have to undergo E-KYC at their LPG distributor to avail benefit under this scheme.

Beneficiaries under this scheme will get one gas cylinder free every four months. First, consumers have to pay money and buy a gas cylinder. The government deposits the full amount paid by the consumer for that gas cylinder in their bank account under subsidy.

Anything related to govt schmes is not political .
Freebie culture is going to destroy this nation. Now people check who is giving more freebies before voting. And some people get all freebies, and still don't vote for the party from whom they received it, you know what i mean

I am OK with freebies for the needy, but hate it because it is being misused.
Economically backward should be limited to places where opportunities are limited & not to people who earn as well as grab everything possible like we see in the cities. They should restrict the freebies only to people living in smaller towns & villages (basically below a certain population) where access to employment is difficult IMO. My idea may be skewed, but we should develop the grant mechanisms in such a fashion that it gets utilize by the needy and not by the ones who live in slums in the cities because they are taken care off by the politicians for their vote banks.

How to report those who abuse such schemes?
(As in, both regional government/ regional departments of the ministries, as also the central government/ central ministry departments, as the case may be.)

TDP party's manifesto had 'Free Gas Cylinder Scheme' listed as one of the 'promises' that they will fulfil upon forming the govt.
'Junta' voted them based on their 'manifesto'. They formed the govt. and fulfilled the 'promise'.
So what's wrong?

Most of these freebies will be abused . This will find its way to commercial eateries and hotels.
