BEWARE of FRAUD at SHOPPER’s STOP
=====
Friends, a new trend in e-shopping is emerging.
First let me inform you about a kind of fraudulent salesmanship. You go to a store to buy a Philips Mixer Grinder. The salesman tells you that the item will cost you Rs.2000/-(when the store is actually getting the mixer from the company for Rs.2100/-). You have already tried the prices of the said product and have found it selling in the market for Rs.2500/-. You are very impressed by the store now and think that this is the most fairly priced shop and the rates are very reasonable. Now the salesman shows you some xyz brand and starts bragging the virtues of this “local” product which he is buying from the company at half the price as compared to the Philips product. He tells you how this is better than the product you are demanding and hence it is costlier than it by 200/-. You are already convinced by the prices that this store is offering and hence you buy this product for Rs.2200/- So this way the store makes a profit of 1200/- where by selling the product you had earlier demanded, he would have made a profit of 250/- if he sold it at competitive prices. not only you buy the mixer grinder of a sub-standard quality, you also buy a toaster9highly impressed by the prices).
Scenario no. 2- You insist on buying the product you have demanded. now the salesman will tell you that this piece lying in the display window (obviously not fresh) is the last piece they have or will make some other lame excuse. Obviously he cannot give you the product at a loss.
==========
I am surprised that such practices have started on reputed e-sites too. Recently the following case happened to somebody close to me. Not only the shoes were quote at less than 70%, the were cheaper by Rs.1200/- when compared with the off-season sale prices at other sites. The gullible customers who have already bought those pairs from other sources will be highly impressed and half of them will end up buying some other item from the site which is very highly priced.
Same thing happened to me at www.groupoffe...om
where they offered a discount of 50% on Ray-Ban sunglasses. None of the sunglasses were delivered and fortunately, the website shut shop within a year.
This practice is totally legal as even after making the payment through your credit card, the company rejects the payment and nothing is charged from your card.
==========
here is the proof of transaction which happened at Shopper’s Stop for a pair of U.S.Polo Shoes which were listed for Rs. 1875.00 on the site, whereas the original price is Rs. 3995.00
========= Communication between the customer and "Shopper's Stop". =========
this is not fair at all. this is not a fair practice . u do it just to lure customers to your site and quote unrealistic prices just to make the other exorbitantly priced items seem cheap. these practices are done by petty shop-keepers and and such malpractices are not expected from “shoppers stop” at least. disappointed….. buddy, you just lost a customer.
