I was looking to buy cashews so had this product in my watchlist- https://www.flipkart.com/nutraj-snackrite-roast...
Today i was surprised to see that the discount which was showing 40% yesterday had increased to 55%.
But the shocking part was that the selling price was the same.
These people increased the mrp by 100 rupees to show higher sale discount.
Blatant misrepresentation. I wont have posted if this looked like an error, but this is 100% deliberate. How did the mrp suddenly increase exactly at midnight when the sale started.
Reference for mrp (Although since i was constantly monitoring i am pretty sure of it) - https://www.amazon.in/Nutraj-Snackrite-Nutritio...
True... prices are too inflated. Need to wait till these fake sales are over to buy at regular price.
Could it be a new lot product with increased MRP? Since I am a regular buyer of cashew, I have observed a sharp increase of its price! Though that doesn't explain the MRP change at exact midnight.
During April/May, I have purchased 500 g cashew at around 240-250/- (after all discounts) from flipkart grocery, now the price has been hiked to 400 and above (after all discounts). I am unable to buy with so much cost.
Also, Flipkart hiked the price of nearly all the grocery products yesterday evening, after a price drop of the day before yesterday. The sale doesn't even feel like a sell with too inflated price (may be all time highest, who knows!).
Also. the online platforms are doing these for quite a times. In regular days, a 20% discounted price is lower than the 50% discount during sells! This is why you should never go after the % of discount, rather selling price!

Maybe. Will be ordering it anyways. Will file consumer case if they deliver old mrp.
From my past experience flipkart always refunds in such cases. So lets see.
