If in a F.Y. or previous year.. one is/has been outside India for 181 days, then subject to criteria.. foreign income (if not repatriated back to India) can be saved from taxability.
Likewise U.S. gives certain leeway to those filing taxes in certain countries and that way one can be saved from having to deal with the IRS there.
U.S. of A is one of the countries with whom we have a DTAT https://nadt.gov.in/writereaddata/MenuContentImages/India%20US%20Double%20Taxation%20Avoidance%20Treaty635480255452005394.pdf
but unless some investment has some EXCEPTIONAL performance or exclusivity about it.. sitting here.. without even 'Resident but not Ordinarily Resident' status (not out of India for N days in past years or current year).. the overall conversion costs, local levies there on the trades and the taxes here.. could be overwhelming.
