If looking for 4g featured one, jio phone is best.
Jio bharat b1 recently bought for a relative. If jio network is good at your location is should be best for calling / basic tasks.
Jiophone J1, Rs 1799,has a 2500mAh battery. At least battery life concerns should be taken care of by the decent capacity battery. It also supports Jio Pay for UPI as a bonus.
ITel Magic X Pro 4G used to retail for Rs 1.5-17k earlier but in the last couple of months it's price has shot up, Rs 3k at times. It has hotspot feature and it's not carrier locked.
jio is selling jio bharat phones in their stores. they have only 1 model for 2200, which is
chinese made but on amazon and fk these bharat phones are by lava, micromax etc. will jio sim work in both? the store model has one sim but the online one's are dual sim.
second store says that on putting sim in bharat phones number will change to jiophone so current plan and top balance will forfeited?they have no idea about this.
nokia etc. are also selling these kinda phones.
can u share link for the itel phone?not able to find it? the requirement is dual 4g and hotspot, if possible.
itel x magic 4g
Take a look at this itel Magic X Pro 4G| 2500mAh Big Battery| Expandable Storage upto 64GB on Flipkart
Nokia 106 4G [ No Career lock, Dual SIM, 1.8 inches IPS LCD Display ]
Jio Bharat V2 4G [ Career Locked, Single SIM, 1.77 inches QVGA TFT Display ]

Using Nokia 2660 flip from last 6 months. Good phone with nostalgia.
Surprisingly the Lava ones or similar China ones (itel or whatever) works fine too.
Someone who works for my neighbour has a lava one.
And many of my staff (gardening, helper and such) use those others which come for less than a thousand.
Even if it goes bad in two years, not much harm
Bookmarked. may need one 4g button phone for a relative.
do see this thread too as the jiobharat phone is very very confusing https://www.desidime.com/discussions/jiobharat-...
