I made order of new phone with exchange of dead phone for rs 400
Its already mentioned that my phone for exchange is a " any dead phone" ..
flipkart chraged rs 129 for pickup..resulting value of exchamge 400-129= 271
When delivery person arrives, he is asking me to start a phone as per his checklist..obviously dead phone won't start, so the check failed and now he is asking to pay rs 400 and get the delivery .
I asked flipkart to guide me how to start a dead phone, CS said its as per checklist.
Now I dont understand what to do..how company like flipkart can do such silly things..
Has anybody has any solution? Exchanged dead phone with flipkart?

Fk tweeter team will ask me to dm and then same answers will be given..
we will get back to you..
we have communicated your concern to our logistics team..
By that time either I would have piad the extra money and got the rid of the issue..or cancelled the order at the cost of rs 129 +29..
I asked delivery person to pass the "switch on" test and see, he told me that if he passed the test then he need to install yantra app on my dead mobile..which is again extra joke..
I exchanged a dead mobile once a few months ago. The delivery executive asked the same thing something like checking imei. I said how can you check imei on a dead phone?. He accepted it and delivered my phone.
I told same thing but he showed me his phone where his exchange software is not going thru submit status unless you pass start test or you pay rs 400
Kabadi wale ko bech deta 100-200 mein to maamla thikthak chalta...
You are an old dimer.
"Now I dont understand what to do..how company like flipkart can do such silly things.."
Please don't ask questions like this. It's scamkart, they can do anything, they no longer surprise me with their silliness.
I you don't mind. Try paying him chai-pani (100-50 rs). One of my friend did this to get best value for his exchange product.
I was asking if any dimer has gone though such weired test experience while exchanging dead phone..or its latest development..like a bug etc..or there may be a way around ( not like chai pani 😄)
I know many of us have had bad experiences of fk ,especially while returning items or discounted voucher purchases and subsequent blocking of accounts , poor customer service and so on. More or less we can hear such experiences for all ecoms and fk is not exception.
As an old dimer , avoiding fk is a solution whenever possible but it kills competitive advantage "deal". And we dimers are known for deals..isn't it?
I still have couple of days for delivery. Let me hear from dimers on their experiences. I will also tag this issue on twitter, (as one dimer suggested) if they respond quickly.
Will keep dd updated on this issue..
No offence but... Company like Flipkart can always do such silly things with silly users.

I exchanged my dead phone 3 months ago. Actually delivery person in my area is same everyday so before order I confirmed with him showing my dead phone. While delivering the order, he processed it quietly and done with exchange.
While processing exchange, phone start/ imei/software install..nothing is asked?
Welcome to Walmart of India.
My 2 attempts to use Flipkart exchange were also failures. First time, agent didn't come at all and marked the exchange as "Resident not available as location". Second time, Flipkart removed the exchange after order was submitted.
On a related note, I have had a very good experience (knock on wood!) with exchanges via Samsung Shop / Corporate website. I have exchanged a Galaxy Note8, S9 and S20 - all with display discolouration issues after 3-5 yrs of use but everything else working fine and no physical damage. In each case, the actual value of the phone I got was measly - Rs 200-2000 but Samsung would sweeten the deal with a Rs 5.6k-12k exchange bonus. On two occasions, the exchange bonus was mentioned upfront on the site and 1 time it wasn't mentioned but I still got it. Note that the new phones were also Galaxy S series (current or one generation old); so may be that is a factor too. The exchange is handled via Cashify. I always went for deferred exchange to transfer the data from my old phone.
Got call from fk escalation team. I asked him to guide me on how a dead phone can be switched on. He said his team would "update" me in 48 hrs..
Some phones are exclusive to Flipkart or at good discount.
For exchange service Amazon is better, hopefully
only undertaker can help you.
Got call from fk escalation team that technical issue resolved and delivery can be expected today.
After rigorous follow up, escalation team was able to resolve the technical issue and new phone was delivered yesterday with exchange of dead phone, as per the order.
Now , no need to switch on dead phone while exchange process.
Flipkart acknowledged the issue and resolve it with their delivery partner.
Sooo, not all things are silly even though, initially it may appeared to be silly.😄
I hope you won't make this Rigorous follow up your habit and learned your lesson well.
Don't make silly mistakes again like silly users and be a pro.
Can we exchange dead feature phone also?
There are 2 options under exchange..
1..any dead phone ( any dead smart phone)
2. Any feature phone..( nokia/ samsung/ any other)
Your case seems combination of both.
Best way is to try "any other fearure phone", if you have imei ( can be taken from box or under battery ) and follow prompts what information system asks from you..The max you can get from any feature phone is rs 200 - pick up cost..
So you can try if it works. It may make sense, especially when there is good exchange bonus offer
If the exchange is rejected do they refund the pick up charges + secured package fee
If exchange rejected then you have the option to pay the difference ( as per the demand sms you get on your registered phone).
If you wont pay the difference then order will be treated as cancelled.
