Enjoying 5.1 Channel Audio Song on Mobile Phone just like 5.1 Home Theater

I am always curious to listen music in a new way. The elders at home often ask me to turn down the volume when listening songs on the home theater, so I think there is no better alternative than enjoying music at the desired volume with earphones.

But I like listening to songs in 5.1 channel more than stereo. Similarly, unfortunately, God gave me only two ears. 5.1 channel means a total of six speakers (left, right, center, subwoofer, surround left & surround right. If I had six ears, I would be the one who would put one earphone in each ear and enjoy 5.1 channels.

[Even if there were six ears, is there any headset in the world that has six speakers that can receive six different audio channels from a mobile?]

In my recent thread@saymyname78 gave a good idea that by extracting 5.1 audio songs from movie files, we can listen to the songs in excellent quality. As he said, I extracted songs from some movies in 5.1 DTS format and listened them. The music quality is superb.

I used the Poweramp app to play .dts audio files. At first, I couldn't play .dts audio files using Poweramp. As far as I know, the Poweramp app doesn't support ".dts" files . But, after renaming the file extension ".dts" to ".wav", Poweramp played those songs successfully.

But I am somewhat dissatisfied with listening 5.1 channel songs on my mobile instead of listening them in a home theater.. Volume control is very convenient in home theater. The remote provides separate volume controls, we can reduce the volume of the center speaker to reduce the singer's voice. Similarly, we can increase the volume of the subwoofer when we want more bass and increase the volume of the surround speakers when we want more surround sound. However, when listening 5.1 channel songs on a mobile phone, it is not possible to set different volumes for different channels in this way through music player.

With the idea that I could set the volume of 5.1 channels separately through audio editors like Audacity on PC/Laptop, I searched for audio editors instead of searching for music players on Google Play Store. After looking at many audio editors, I was satisfied that this audio editor named Mixpad had all the features I needed. In the Mixpad app, we can import 5.1 channel songs as 6 separate tracks and set different volume for each track.

But since it's actually an audio editor, using it as a music player is a bit complicated. If any Android app developers are reading this thread, my request to them. Try making a music player that allows us to set different volume for the channels in a 5.1 channel audio song as explained above. It will definitely become an innovative Android music player!

5.1 is only useful in movies / games as you can feel objects, sounds coming from different directions.

In case of music, There is no sense in a guitar flying over somebody's head. Even if it may sound cool, Adjusting volume of moving musical instruments will be extremely difficult and impractical.
