All policies issued in electronic form by the insurer directly to the policyholder shall also be issued in physical form if requested by the policyholder.
To save it from being a death knell for the extremely poor and illiterate people, the authority has provisioned for exemptions to this rule.. if it can be proven to be in the interests of the policyholder/s and for the orderly growth of the insurance industry.

Obviously the insurer has to mandatorily seek the choice of the prospect in the proposal form for availing physical policy document.

I had opened with NSDL few years back. https://nir.nd...n/

No benefit as most of the GICs are not available even now.
