On the other hand I have been trying to get netbanking access for my mother's account for months and those Canara bank clowns keep messing things up.

And once you get it make sure to keep changing netbanking password after every 3 months else it will expire then you need to do whole debit card password reset thing using multiple otp & full 4-5 min time spend.
