1ļøā£Disable the YouTube App
If youāre using a OnePlus or a similar device, go to Settings > Apps > YouTube > Disable. This completely stops you from opening the app.
If your phone doesnāt allow disabling, hereās an alternative: lock the app with a complicated password that you wonāt remember, like a random combination of numbers or letters. That way, you canāt easily open it.
2ļøā£ Switch to Brave Browser
Download the Brave Browser from the Play Store. It has a feature under Settings > Media that lets you block YouTube Shorts, the comments section, and even ads. This setup ensures you can still watch regular videos without getting distracted by unnecessary content.
Plus, Brave allows you to play videos in the background and blocks all ads. I personally use this method and never log in to my YouTube account, so I stay completely distraction-free.
3ļøā£Avoid Third-Party Apps
Iām not sure if apps like Revanced are available on the Play Store, and honestly, downloading apps from third-party sources can expose your phone to hacking or tracking risks. Thatās why using a safe browser like Brave is a much better optionāit gives you all the control you need without compromising security.
This method has worked well for me, and I hope it helps you too!
+ These methods aren't comforting, so they won't dragg you in ur comfort zone easily!!!

Step one: copy the link of the video.
Step two: open a search sote of your choice.
Step 2 (A): search for terms like 'yt downloader' 'ss save youtube 1080p'.
Step 3: from the results, open sites like y2meta.tube, en1.savefrom.net or any that you feel safe with.
Step 3 (a): in the selected/opened site, put the youtube link and press ok/enter.
Step 4: from the available audio, video file download options, choose and download.
If you were referring to some native (off-line vieweing) options within the youtube application for droid, iOS
then I am sorry, I do not know much.
On computers, for use from within the browsers, there are/were add-ons available to see the list of available media, in the page open in a given tab.
Or at-least in Firefox, I used such add-ons.. which grabbed all file format resolutions available.. even at youtube.
In the initial method up to.. to save time.. BUT MAINLY TO AVOID matwale or other issues, I prefer sites that directly retrieve the core URL of the video on youtube/google
rather than the sites that download the file to their own servers and want users to download from them.
For twitter youtube type sites, many media/video download sites somehow fetch the internal/hidden URL from youtube, twitter themselves.
This way, it remains safe to download.
(But such googlevideo URLs are session specific/ tokens, and not permanent URLs. They googlevideo links fetched by those sites have tokens/cookies locked to that browser, that session.)
