For example, I'm looking at HDFC Click 2 Protect Super 1cr policy for term insurance and it has option of accidental rider for additional 1cr for accidental deaths. But if I don't opt for the additional rider, does the default vanilla cover of 1cr include additional deaths?

"no matter type of death" - doesn't this include accidental death?

I'm an insurance advisor. It will cover in any company term policy. Rider is optional and will give you insurance amount + extra amount.

If he dies due to accident he will get 1cr
If he has opted for accident death rider
He will get double amount

Thanks for the crystal clear explanation .
I was wondering , isn't the insurance meant to cover accidental death.

Usually it doesn't unless the policy says so, rest assured full sum assured is paid no matter type of death. If you want to get more accident death cover then you would need to add add-on
