My platelet count is slightly below normal. So physician advised folvite tablet for a month.
I was reading that folate above 1mg daily might be unsafe. And folvite is 5 mg tablet.
So wanted to check with fellow doctors here.

1. Folic acid will do nothing to your platelets, unless you have folic acid deficiency. It will just act as a placebo.
2. Folic acid is water soluble. Anything extra, and it will get excreted in urine. Highly unlikely to have any side effects for the dose and duration you mentioned
Medicines are good , but my oldies( dadi- Nani) always suggest taking papaya leaves juice to increase Platelets counts .... Drink it and take honey or anything sweet after it ...to adjust the taste... It has bio compounds that boost platelets count pretty rapidly.... I would suggest raw papaya leaves juice not the extract , god knows what and how much qty did manufacture mix in what composition....
It's free advice, take it or avoid it , it's your call... allopathic medicines are good , but I take them only on serious notes not every time... Consult any ayurvedic medicines practitioner before taking any advice from any one .... Not only ayurvedic but allopathic medicines too... Google gyan could give you chemical composition but to take it on how much potency according to need will only be said and guide you by the medical practitioner....
Yes papaya leaves always works wonders
Not a doctor.
I had Dengue just a week ago and my Platelet count was 1 lakh, so along with the prescription medicine for fever and digestion, the Doctor also prescribed Papaya Leaf extract tablets. If you cannot find Papaya Leaf juice, buy the extract tablets. They are a bit pricey but it did increase my platelet count. Also eat Papaya and Kiwi. My Doc did not prescribe folvite tab for low Platelets.
What is your mean RBC value?
It’s recommended dosage IS daily.
It is quite safe drug and has very long history of being taken for longer periods.
Anything within therapeutic index. Depends on length more than dose.
