But yes, there was no woke-ism then.
Last year, saw my cousin's 5-5½ year old sulk and had tears welled up in his eyes.
Upon being asked by my sister, he said that his teacher... 'scolded' him.
In our times, the parents used to come to school.. to tell the teacher: isko apna hee bachha samjhiyega (treat our child, like your child).
Eventually, we ended up getting physically punished or disciplined.. at BOTH.. home and school.
Some teachers had innovative ways too, which I cannot even write here.
