So while I was going thru which dmat broker is better I came to know that each broker is associated with a depository (NSDL or CDSL).
- Can you guys let me know ? Which depository is better? NSDL or CDSL.
- Which Demat broker is reliable ? with minimal charges.
- Currently I found HDFC Sky to be good for my use case.
My usecase : I dont want to much trading (buy & sell), looking to buy shares & SGB for long term.
Please advice based upon your knowledge/experience.

most brokers are with CSDL now
just select any top broker, kotak gives 0 for first 2 years (if ur age below 30), best experience for me till now
Groww for beginners and for occasional investment. Zerodha, HDFC Sky, AngelOne etc for regular investment.
I would suggest Zerodha. It has good user interface and you can also invest in mutual funds through Coin app which would deposit the mf units in the same Dmat account.
groww and zerodha are good.
I'm using zerodha now
also cdsl is better, especially when you want to transfer shares from one demat to the other, the process is very smooth and online, nsdl on the other hand has a very complicated way of doing so, afair they do it through an offline form.
also most discount brokers are now partnered with cdsl whereas the banks like hdfc, icici, sbi etc are partnered with nsdl.
either way I suggest to go with cdsl broker for better convenience
CDSL is more popular.
Zerodha/Groww is leading with user base in these, followed by angelone and upstock. Any broker from these should be fine.
For your use case, i think Groww will be best, since it doesn't have any annual charges.
I use Dhan. It has a plenty of features. No AMC, No A/c Opening charges. Brokerage rs0 for delivery. For others, rs 10 per order for women (men-rs 20)
Dhan is good, but I prefer Zerodha. And I'll help you in learning
Zerodha or Groww
I have been using it since I was a beginner
