Dimers Expert advice on HDFC Credit Card to Choose from
Getting an Offer to Upgrade to HDFC Millennia for FYF (First Year Free)
Getting the same offer from past 2-3 year but this time it's FYF
PS - Holding a PAID HDFC Regalia First Credit Card since 8+ years
and a LTF HDFC Tata Neu Infinity Credit Card since few months after launch
Couple of times achieved milestones in the Regalia First CC for Renewal Fees Waiver and couple of times Renewal fees was waived off upon email request , Rest all other times have paid INR 1000 as fees
Planning to close Regalia First CC after De- valuation as Renewal is up in next month & no Free upgrade to LTF even after multiple request
MY Questions -
1.) Will it be a wise decision to close the Paid Regalia First CC or Shall I continue holding the same card ?
2.) Is it Good to accept the offer of Upgrade to Millennia card for FYF ?
3.) In case closing Regalia First CC , Can I still hold LTF Tata Neu Infinity as a standalone card ?
4.) Are there any negotiation way with Bank to make either card LTF ?
Note - Good amount of Reward points accumulated in Regalia First CC & Quite handy in Online Sales Also good higher limit with extension every now & then provided by Bank

Same was the case with me. I updated to millennia last month. But it has a limit of 1000 cashback per month on online spends and smartbuy each, however, regalia first has points to cash ratio of 0.20
@Simbha3 My Spends are in General categories but Regalia First CC helped with in between milestones for Amazon Voucher that Bank provides as an offer
Also it did help in Lounges
I do also have Flipkart Axis for Flipkart Spends And APay ICICI for Amazon Spends
So m still confused!
From your point of view how would answer my 4 curated thoughtful questions that would help me decide about this ?
😳
@Hitss Oh ! That's Great
Was it FYF or LTF ?
So in your opinion which card is still better to hold on in Future ?
Also if you can help me decide on the subject matter by answering my 4 curated thoughtful questions ?
😗
If you are into international travelling then regalia is better or if you want instant cashback then millenia is better.
You need to spend 1lac per annum to get renewal fees waiver in millennia which is easier to achieve.
Your current regalia points will remain same and will be adjusted in millennia card.
Points Conversion is shown as below
Mentioned as Total value of Reward Points remain same But not sure what 30% means

can't advice you on the basis of incomplete knowledge.
1. imo millenia is better than regalia ( even in case of both are paid) untill you don't have any other cards for lounges access
2. Fyf offer is good , also achieving fees reversal is easy in millenia or you can request for ltf after having some good spends on card
3.yes it should, confirm from cc
4. Negotiate for ltf after having some good spends in millenia
I'm not sure about old rps so you should redeem those before upgrading
Thanks for conveying the information point to point

Already having good spends in Regelia First so thought Bank would offer on LTF on Spend based
😃
Regalia First Credit Card
If I am calculating correctly, you get 4 points for every 150 (0.3 rupees per point). So if you spent 1 lakh, you earn 800 rupees worth points. So return is just 0.8%. As you mentioned, sometimes you have not reached the 1 lakh and hence paid annual fees. If you spend 3 lakhs, you get points worth 2400+1500 bonus=3900 which works out to 1.3%
I think there are better cards like SBI Cashback for Online and AU LIT card for Offline
Millennia Credit Card
The 5% cashback on certain merchants is not appealing when compared with 5% SBI Cashback for any merchants.
The only appealing feature is:
- ₹1000 worth gift vouchers on spends of ₹1,00,000 and above in each calendar quarter
I recommend to close the card and go for SBI Cashback if you don't have it yet
Yes it is 4 points for every 150 rupees spent
Yes, planning to have SBI cashback card in near Future But good to have an HDFC card for Bank offers from Online Shopping
Thus planning to close Regelia First so that later on I get some pre approved Best top/premier HDFC card

1.) Will it be a wise decision to close the Paid Regalia First CC or Shall I continue holding the same card ?
-YES CLOSE THIS PAID CARD , AND GO FOR MILLENIA THERE IS GOOD CHANCE THAT THEY WILL CONVERT FYF TO LTF CONSIDERING YOUR SPEND , SO U WILL GET A LTF CARD FORM A PAID CARD
2.) Is it Good to accept the offer of Upgrade to Millennia card for FYF ?
YES
3.) In case closing Regalia First CC , Can I still hold LTF Tata Neu Infinity as a standalone card ?
TATA NEU INFINITY IS THE BEST CARD FOR OFFLINE USE , BONUS IF U HAVE RUPAY VERSION , IT ALSO HAVE AIRPORT LOUNGES (NOT MANY) WITHOUT ANY SPEND REQUIREMENT , ALSO GOOD FOR TATA NEU WEBSITES
4.) Are there any negotiation way with Bank to make either card LTF ?
YES , GO FOR FYF CARD MAKE GOOD SPEND AND THEN KEEP PRESSING FOR MAKING IT LTF BEFORE FEW MONTH OF LEVYING OF FEES VERY VERY HIGH CHANCES OF THEM MAKING IT LTF
ALSO VISA CARDS ARE USELESS , TAKE EITHER RUPAY VERSION FOR UPI AND ANY TRICKS THAT COMES THAT WAY FOR ROTATION , OR MASTERCARD AS THEY HAVE BETTER OFFER THEN VISA ON THEIR WEBSITE
My Guess HDFC Bank Millennia CC isn't available on Rupay network, most likely its going to be Visa else Master
😚
@DEEPANGEORGE Thank You for the thorough explanation & answering all Questions in details
They are replacing Regalia First with MILLENNIA
(Although I don't understand much from the Comparison table)
Also I am their Imperia Customer , so was hoping to negotiate on same basis
😚
1) call RM and ask why you haven't got regalia upgrade till now and
2) visit branch and also ask the same
then you might have better options, so ask them:)
@arundass007378 Thank You for comprehensive Explanation & covering all Benefits with clear understanding statements & comparing with other credit cards that paved the path for a Good Selection & Decision Making
Charges mentioned as below
Hopefully MILLENNIA it is
😊
@sahil1033 Thank You for answering the context Questions meticulously & helping me to decide finally
My guess that You are holding a Regalia Gold Card . I was aiming for Regelia First CC to make it LTF & then later plan to convert it to Regelia (Gold) , thus so much for Regalia First LTF
Hopefully then aiming for MILLENNIA to reach for Infinia later
😚
ccheck where do you spend most.
if this is the case you can take Millennia . From past few years not using hdfc card anywhere because of no offers.
