Have you tried it personally. What is it mentioned in the statement. In TnC this is what is mentioned "Please note that gift card and grocery purchased on the 5% eligible merchants and MCCs won’t earn any cashback"

Trick -
1) You can direct buy Amazon gv using Swiggy HDFC CC on Amazon - 5% Cashback.
2) or buy something on Amazon fullfill product and cancel, choose cancel option - Amazon gv refund and get 5% Cashback on Swiggy HDFC CC.
In the OTP message it only shows AMAZON
after debit it shows AMAZON GIFT CARD,
is there any way to know before transaction,

You tried with Swiggy? I tried just now it shows AMAZON in OTP SMS
Yes we get 5% if we buy through amazon itself, But check for merchant name. It should be AMAZON PAY INDIA PVT or Amazon.in for 5% cashback eligibility.
