Good luck In Korea. I've heard Koreans are a racist bunch towards black/brown people. Let us know if all that is just hearsay or if there is any truth to that.

Maybe not outright rapists, but xenophobia 'yes'.
Mahindra or whoever took over Daewoo's heavy vehicles business... someone having worked for a while with them in India and Korea.. explained the challenges of how the locals, old staff too resisted and acted super rough towards the Indians, despite the Indian company now being the new owner.

Tourism wise, in the larger cities.. now there is less racial discrimination in South Korea.. but as a society.. being obsessed with physical appearances.. yes there are odd cases of odd treatment.

With desi folks.. often the image gets burnt into minds of others after witnessing or being told of the way we desis act.

For example, unsure about Korea, but in Thailand etcetera.. the kind of gentry that often goes.. and the things the do even before landing (with cabin crew) and after landing with others.. often already makes local establishments refuse desi people or at-least Indians for sure.

Although on the point of Koreans, they end up having beef with with even the Japanese. The newage intermingling of cultures might have made things easier or social media might have bridged borders but still some things remain.
(I have not been to Korea, but in Japan we did observe how the tourists and long time working professionals interacted or spoke when uninhibited after getting intoxicated.
Koreans in India, whom we lived around were all mostly well-educated working professionals and courteous.)

Some of the older generation people we interacted with, initially came across as very cautious, even scared that their so called culture not get diluted if their kids or grandkids settle in other country or marry someone from another culture, country.
But later some of them exposed their own hypocrisy by being okay with the same kids, grandkids either migrating to or marrying someone from United States.😁
