So according to you, paying relevant taxes will assure development and prosperity of a country, then your assumption is all wrong. If that was the case then India would have been one of the top powers in the world by now, leave top power aside just read this " the world had 872.3 million BPL people, out of which 179.6 million people lived in India, we hold 20.6% share of world’s poorest in 2011". So Is it guaranteed that the paid tax amount will reach the honest hands?, tell me do you really believe that the paid taxes are used in wisest way?. Do you think these politicians are born rich, who have stacked millions of money. Tell me from past 60 years we are paying taxes, are they used honestly, do you even have any idea how many billions are spent on advertisements during elections, whose money it was?. Who gave them so much of funds, now dont say people donate it to thme, lets be honest, you know the reality, all of these politicians are goons. From where did all the black stashed money in Swiss bank came from. Do you think it was legit income, then its in swiss bank?. Even if each and every citizen pays his taxes still who assures it will be used for development purpose, since the intentions of the so called “guardians” are not good. And you were saaying UK US also have high tax rates, Just have a look Incomes amounting less than £11,500 are exempted from taxes. This amounts to be 978684 ( Nine lakh Seventy Thousand Six hundred Eighty Four Only ) so this amount equals to income of a good engineer or CA. I know the way of and expenses of living are different but still incomes upto 10 lacs are tax free in Uk and in India incomes upto only 2.5 lacs are tax free. I do admit that every country has corrupt politicians, but in UK, US their are few corrupt ones, and here few are honest, rest all are corrupt. That’s why India is not able to develop even though we have tons of god gifted gifts, so much talented human resource but still, these all parties are just playing their innings.
