Bought Daikin AC from flipkart. 2 days later Daikin guy came for installation. He drilled and drill machine damaged the main wiring of house. He had no clue and left after that.

Called local electrician today and he is unable to find the main wiring now. Ultimately whole of the main wiring (from meter to all rooms, not internal wiring of all rooms) is getting replaced. (Cost around 5-6K)

Any suggestions? Can I ask Daikin to take responsibility?? Any experience with their support??

Can complaint be raised to Flipkart?

It is ur fault, u must have informed the installation guy where ur wire pipes are so that he can drill on other positions.

Its your house ... you must be knowing where the hidden electric pipes are ?

Where the water lines are .

In case of no knowledge they can X-ray / ultrasound the walls to understand whats hidden underneath ... but that comes with much expertise and heavy extra cost .

Here there is no fault of installation guy / company  nors yours if you had no knowledge of whats hidden inside .

Just treat this as unfortunate accident and loss as life lesson .

It is of no use unless you have concrete evidence that the damage is caused because of his drilling else it will your word against theirs. Even with a proof you have to threaten multiple times to go to consumer court for a resolution. Go ahead if you have no qualms in spending good amount of time in pursuing this case over a long period. I don't want to demotivate you but unfortunately it is the reality

understand your point. But even now he is acknowledging that it happened with drill. It is all about misjudgment.

It's not technician's fault. We must always know the route of internal wiring and pipes of our house. If house is newly built, then we can take photos and videos during internal wiring and installation. I also pointed a plumber to drill to install sabundani inside my bathroom. The drill went straight into the supply pipe and there was water everywhere. We had to remove one tile to repair it. But it was not his fault, he could not have known inside piping. Take it as a lesson and move on.

That's the typical India problem,  wire diagram is not  mandatory for every house. It should be and sticked to main meter board in hard copy. For that electrician should be licensed and taught how to make these diagrams.

Ac technician should know how to read those diagrams.

But no we don't have regulations for anything. Whatever we system have is way to encash bribes.

Thank you  everyone for your suggestions. I also understand that it wasn't the fault of technician directly. Neither was it our fault, as no one remembers the exact wiring of their house, unless the wiring is external or house is now.

But still because he decided the point to drill, it's a obvious expectation that he should have drilled the wall carefully and not in one go. He could have drilled initially and then checked for any obstruction, wires or anything.

Still raised a complain with Daikin, will revert you with the resolution (whenever/if it comes).
