Thought this is what punitive damages are. Our fines are peanuts.
India will never see such kind of fast trial. Only in 4 days judgment passed . In india for 5000 rs compensation person has to wait 10 years.
After a four-day trial, the jury awarded Postell $230,000 in damages and $462,500 in punitive damages.
Took 2.5 years and the compensation offered is nowhere close to what was asked, so this isnt a "solution"
Plus he lost all his precious moments of his marriage, that's also worth much..
There should be some punishment that they don't do this negligence to anyone else..
