NPCI talks to startups on biometric authentication for UPI payments

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is in discussions with a few startups to enable biometric authentication for the popular mobile-based UPI payments, according to a couple of sources aware of the matter.

already there in some upi apps with UPI authentication using finger print:) nothing new xD NPCI is sugar coating things:) xD

Eg: Slice wallet has this feature

Wallet UPI has it - even HDFC PayZapp and Bajaj Finserv but bank accounts not yet. Would be nice for bank accounts so Bajaj can be looted faster

Yeh bahut pahele se NPCI test kar raha hai, i think last year se but ab shayad commercially launch karega.

RuPay Card k bhi fingerprint based card bhi test kar raha hai.

They have been testing this for almost 3 years. Don't know when they will bring it to normal apps. This is very much needed. Typing so much every single time is a waste of time.
