On Sunday, October 06, 2024 Chennai is again hosting the Air Show.😃
(The first one was more than two decades back, on September 6, 2003.)

This time, at-least over 6 dozen vintage planes and/or old but functional planes will be there.

It is also being hoped that the airshow will turnout to be THE largest ever gathering at an air show in India and thus tomorrow's Chennai Air Show🛩️ will hopefully earn✈️ an entry into the Limca book of records for the same.😊✊🏼💪🏻.
Over one and half million people are expected.👌🏼

will you be there too, tomorrow, at the ✈️Chennai Air Show, 2024?🛩️😊

I wanted to fly to Chennai to attend the Air Show, but due to some commitments, couldn't make it. I still wish I could go. Later, I saw the Velachery trains packed just like the Vasai-Virar trains in Mumbai. It reminded me of my earlier Chennai suburban train journey from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G.R. Central Railway Station to Tambaram, where the trains used to be nearly empty. Now, seeing the crowd that usually gathers only at Guindy was surprising. I couldn’t attend the show this time, but I hope to catch it in the future.

Thanks for uploading this thread about the Chennai Air Show. An Upvote from me to let Dimers up to date with some good things & news happening in the country.

Hello RajaNageshwarNath,

There are adequate crowd management, viewing area arrangements being made.

Yes, with the expected turnout Although not enough areas can be covered with temporary structures, tent like cloth or other things would be available in the amenities area.

As an aviation enthusiast, I can say that some of the adrenaline will easily take care of minor inconvenience.

Timings too will be spread out. So one can plan to be there for a few hours, as per one's own plans.

Medical teams, emergency response teams too will be on standby at relevant places (be it for the participating crew, aircrafts or for the visitors).

Hope to see people have an enriching experience.🙂

We need better crowd management. How many times will we keep hearing same old stories about people dying due to heat or due to stampedes. They were talking on the news about one guy who died just because he could not get a bottle of water for almost 2 hours - it seems a lot of roadside vendors were moved or closed. 5 families are devasted today unfortunately.
